Silver and black stars using Lacquester and Snail Vinyls

By // No comments:
Vandaag is het verjaardagsfeest van mijn (schoon)zus, dus om die reden heb ik gisterenavond lekker zitten spelen met stencils en lak. Lekker friemelen met die stencils, slokje wijn tussendoor, heerlijke avond was dat!

Gebruikte producten:
Hema ridgefilling basecoat (2 lagen)
Lacquester Silver Mine (1 laag)
Snail Vinyls in Star Swirl en Star Decals
Orly Liquid Vinyl
Hema Quick Dry Topcoat

Fijn weekend iedereen!!!

Splatter nails with Lacquester's Katy Did Pink

By // No comments:
***For English see below***

Lacquester - Katy Did Pink

***English***
This mani was done for a challenge on the Facebookgoup of Laquester a few months ago. I found the picture on my laptop today and thought it was nice to share it on my blog to show the fun mess I made on my nails for this challenge.

I painted my nails with Lacqester's Katy Did Pink, used drinkingstraws to blow the other polishes over my my nails and finished with a matte topcoat.

Heel erg bedankt voor het kijken!

PolishAlcoholic - Keep S'myelin (an MS awareness nailpolish)

By // No comments:
Warning: I bought this polish last May, it was limited edition and if you like what you see, I'm very sorry; you can't get it anymore. But do check out the PolishAlcoholic's shop, because she has a nice red holo that could be this polish sexy sister. More info below.
In the sun

About Keep S'myelin: This is an orange holo, a portion of the sales goes to the MS National Foundation.
The name "Keep S'myelin" is brilliantly chosen, let's all give Sabrina PolishAlcoholic an applause for that. This name means 2 things:
1) Keep myelin = the material in your body that makes sure your nervous system works as it should .
When you have MS, your body attacks it's own myelin, that results in a loss of myelin and therefore damage to the nervous system. You want to keep that myelin!!!
2) Keep smiling = the only thing you can do when you have MS, because being a sad grumpy person     does not make you better and only makes you a not-fun person to be around. There will be bad days, but there will also be good days. So keep smiling (and have some wine occasionally).
In the sun

Okay let me be honest here: I don't really like orange. If it wasn't for the MS Foundation and to show my support to PolishAlcoholic (who also has MS), I would have never bought this polish, that happens to be orange because that is the MS support color.
I do like holo (are there people who don't like holo????) so I actually like this polish because it looks lovely in the sun with that holo sparkle in it.
In the shade

This is two coats, it went on a little sheer, but as you can see it covers well with just two coats.
After two days of wear I had enough of all the oange (as I said: I don't really like orange) and decided to add pink to it. Orange and pink is a great combination. I added a sheer OPI Sorbet called Do You Think I'm Tex-y, which is super glossy and sheer so you can see some of the holo shining through.

In the shade, no sun that day :-(
If you like this polish and you are super sad it is all sold out, please check the PolishAlcoholic for more awesome polishes:

My first Ultra Chrome flakies by PolishAlcoholic: Baby Boom Galaxy and Fireworks Galaxy

By // No comments:
When the first pictures of the ILNP ultrachrome flakies showed up, I immediately knew I needed ultra chrome flakies in my life as I had never seen anything like it in my life. Soon after I noticed more indies making their own incredible versions with these flakies and I fell in love with the flakies by PolishAlcoholic and I was surprised to find out she is a Dutchie, like me! Yay for Dutch Indie brands!!!
I ordered two of her flakies on Sunday and received them on Tuesday and did a quick swatch immediately with both of them (over a nude polish) because I just couldn't wait ty try them out!

Bring on the Ooohhh's and Aaahhh's ladies, because this is some serious nailporn!
The green is Baby Boom Galaxy and the purple is Fireworks Galaxy and they are magical. Feast you eyes on this!

My favorite is by FAR Baby Boom Galaxy, because the flakies reflect a rainbow of colors and the dominant color is green, which I love.
But just look at that bottle I'm holding, that is Fireworks Galaxy, pretty amazing too, right?
I might have a small problem now, because two ultra chrome flakies are not enough to satisfy my newest addiction. Buy all the ultra chrome flakies!!!!!!!

Thank you Sabrina from PolishAlcoholic for making these insanely pretty polishes, check out her Etsy store here, she ships worldwide.

I will soon post more swatches of these flakies as I'm interested how they look over different colors.

Thank you so much for watching!
Have a great day!

Holographic nails with FUN Lacquer and SmART Nails + GIVEAWAY - part 3

By // 1 comment:
Happy Sunday everybody! Tonight I went to see to see the musical Dreamgirls in StdsschouwburgUtrecht (theatre in city Holland), so I'm keeping it short and sweet for today's manicure with SmART Nails, because it's time to go to bed!

I did a lovely manicure with green, black and silver and a pointy nail stencil:

Product used
Green holo - FUN Lacquer 'Margarita Cocktail'
Black holo: Color Club 'Revvvolution'
Silver holo glitter (pinky) - FUN Lacquer '24K (H)'
Plain silver (index) - L'Oréal
Smart Nails Big Teeth stencil

Don't you just love the FUN Lacquer holo's? Margarita Cocktail is a lime green holo that needs at least 2 coats, but i did three, It looks amazing in sunlight (much beter than under the lamp I had to use because it was so cloudy)

24K (H) is the holo glitter on my pinky, it is very dense and can be worn on it's own in just 2 coats. There  are amazing silver glitter + holographic pigments in it! I wish the lamplight showed the holo better. Since I bought the 24K (H) this summer, FUN Lacquer killed me by releasing more insanely pretty holo glitters, I really hope to be able to buy some more real soon!

This is how the Big Teeth stencil looks in the package.

Pretty & Polished - I'm Wonka for Willy! (color changing thermal nail polish)

By // No comments:
Shame on me for leaving this polish between the untrieds for sooo long! I bought this polish a year ago and only yesterday I took these pictures to show you this colorful thermal nail polish.
Ofcourse the polish is just as lovely as it was a year ago, but now I'm just being mean by showing it to you, because it is sold out now. Sorry about that.

This is Pretty & Polished - I'm Wonka for Willy! A thermal that changes from purple (cold) to light grey (warm) and it has alot of bright yellow and purple hex glitter in it.

Unfortunalely I couldn't get my hands to warm up, so I made a nice warm cup of tea and held my nails above the hot tea so I could show you how this polish looks in its warm state.

The polish looks at it's best in the transitional state, there are so many colors between purple and grey, I didn't expect that! There is some, blue, periwinkle and teal, really pretty!!!

Application was a bit tricky. The polish is a bit thin and the glitter drags to the tips of your nails. You have to do some serious glitter placement for the first two coats. I did 4 thin coats for complete coverage topped with 2 coats topcoat to make it look smooth and glossy.

The color changes easily and watching it change is pure entertainment! Who needs Netflix if you got thermal nail polish ;-)
I have used other thermals from Pretty and Polished (Tomboyish and May Flowers) and all of them change quickly with the slightest change of temperature.

I hope you enjoyed watching this fun thermal. And don't you just love the name????
This polish is sold out, but Pretty & Polished has many more gorgeous polishes in their shop!

Thank you so much for watching!
Have a great day :-)

Golden Oldie Thursday with Jindie Nails beTrixed

By // 1 comment:
So after not participating in the GOT Polish Challenge for over 2 months (due to a broken laptop) I'm finally posting again and just in time for the Indie theme! Yesss!

This is a mani I did with Jindie Nails beTrixed: tiny matte lime and turquoise glitter with a little bit bigger pink and black glitter. It's so pretty!
First time I wore this, my friends commented how it reminded them of Monet's waterlilies.

I'm wearing two coats of beTrixed over a bright blue creme base.

Because the GOT Polish Challenge is all about nailart, I decided to add a dotticure on two nails, using colors that match the lovely beTrixed. But to be honest: this polish is best on it's own.

I hope you enjoyed watching this lovely Indie!

Next weeks theme is 'Ignored for too long' and I have another indie for that, can't wait to wear it for the first time! Come back next week to find out wich indie has been ignored by me!

Party-nails with Jindie Nails - 'Eclectric' (glitter gradient over pink)

By // 1 comment:
This week I used Misa 'Party in the Masquerade' for the Golden Oldie Thursday Polish Challenge. On Friday my friends and I went to a party (called '30-Something' in Tivoli Utrecht) and I decided to use this bright color topped with Jindie Nails 'Eclectric' for my colorful party nails!

Jindie Nails Eclectric is a clear-based confetti topper. It is very densely packed with every size, shape and color matte glitter. Round, hexe, square, bars, moons, stars...and many more.
Just look at the bottle in the picture above to see how much fun this polish is!

Jindie Nails is one of my favorite Indie brands, Jen has a creative mind wich results in some very special polishes!

I just dabbed on the glitter near my cuticles and placed some of the glitter with the brush. After that I did a second coat which I pushed a bit down the nail to get the gradient look.
Finished with a small neon yellow stud at the tip of my nails.

This is how my nails looked at the party!!!
Okay, this is a cellphone shot while dancing with my friends, so not the best quality, but look at the bright neon and how the glitter glows in the blue light! It is safe to say that Jindie nails Eclectric is one great partypolish!

And a picture of the '30- Something' party in Tivoli so you can see where I took my nails out dancing :-)

Thank you very much for watching my party-nails :-)
Enjoy this Easter Sunday!

Jindie Nails - Quit Staring at my Melons

By // 4 comments:
Look what I found on my PC, old pictures in a folder I didn´t knew there were still unposted pictures in!
What a shame I didn´t post these earlier, because now I´m showing you one of the prettiest glitter polishes I own and it´s no longer available. Sorry....

This is Jindie Nails - Quit Staring at my Melons!

How amazing is this polish? I layered it over China Glaze - Sun of a Peach, best neon I own so far (and I own more than I should).

Quit Staring at my Melons is a mix of all sizes matte and holographic circle glitter in the colors pink, green, black, white and i might have overlokked some, but this is so pretty!
For budget-reasons I bought a mini, but I wish I could have bought a full size so I could wear it all the time and over every color I own.

I'm sorry if this made you want this polish badly, because it's probably sold out now.
Do check out Jindie Nails' website, she has so much amazing polishes, you won't be disappointed:  http://jindienails.com/

Thank you for checking out these old swatches.
I leave you with a gorgeous picture of my hometown:

Have a great weekend!

OPI What's With The Cattitude? with a Jindie Nails Candy Land accent

By // No comments:
OPI What's With the Cattitude? is an oldie but goodie that I enjoy wearing every once in a while. To spice it up a bit, I layered 3 coats of Jindie Nails Candy Land over the nail on my ring finger.

Candy Land needed some placing of the glitter, but not much. Just pushed them a bit around while painting my nails. Another great polish by Jindie Nails!

The entire mani lasted like iron, almost a week without a chip!

Thank you so much for watching!
XOXOXOX

Pretty and Polished - May Flowers, a green to white thermal nailpolish. I love thermals!

By // 5 comments:
This is my first thermal nailpolish in a loooong time, a few years ago I had two thermal polishes by Claire's, but the colors weren't very pretty so I didn't enjoy wearing them. Only once wore them to take a picture of it and then they chipped the very same day and disappeared in a box in my closet with polishes I'll never ever wear again in my life.

May Flowers from Pretty & Polished is a very nice color green when it's cold and turns white when warm. There is green, pink and lavender glitter in it and some flower-shaped glitter as well.

I have alot of pictures, unfortunately all taken with my cellphone (some taken while on my way to work and some taken at work, sorry co-workers!), so excuse the low quality, but you can still see how great this polish looks!

This is how the polish looked on me most of the time: a green pinky and a green indexfinger (apparently those are my cold fingers, LOL), perfect gradient on the other nails.

I really really like this green color, so fortunately for me I often have cold hands so I could enjoy that color.

And this is what happens when your hands get cold. the green color fades to a almost white.

I layered May Flowers over a white base so I needed less layers to reach opacity and the effect shows up nicely on the pictures.

And here you see the white color of this polish when my hands were nice and warm (which rarely happens).

So, I hope you enjoyed this polish, I sure did!
This polish can be bought at the Pretty&Polished shop.
They have alot of color changing polishes, but if you are not into that, they have so much more pretties you can drool over!

To finish this post, I have two pictures of our little boy that were taken by a photographer at the mall:

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Bye bye!

XOXOXOX

Jindie Nails - Fantastical

By // No comments:
A few weeks a go I ordered 3 Jindie Nails polishes. I don't have much experience with indie nailpolishes, so I decided to buy three mini bottles: Candy Land, Quit Staring at my Melons! and Fantastical. They looked amazing in all the swatches I've seen on the blogs, but I was sceptical about their quality. You know the indie polishes are home made, you don't know what they are brewing in their cauldrons. Sometimes it's better to leave things to the professionals.
But after trying al three of these Jindie Nails polishes, I can honestly tell you that the quality is very good! They last for several days without chipping, the glitters don't curl and the color of the glitters don't bleed into the polish.

Today I'm showing you the first of the three polishes I ordered: Fantastical
This is the official description of fantastical:
Fantastical:  Bright, pastel coral crelly (cream/jelly) with a mix of satin matte aqua hex and regular sized stars, metallic and holographic teal smaller sized stars, squares, hex and large dots, turquoise, green/gold iridescent hex, plus beautiful color shifting teal shimmer.  Opaque in 2-3 coats.  Meant to be worn on its own.
Picture taken with cellphone on my way to work :-)
Ofcourse I didn't listen and layered 2 coats of Fantastical over Essie Tart Deco. It looked pretty, but I have to admit I think it looks better on it's own.
Picture taken with cellphone on my way back from work to home :-)
The combination of colors, glitter, shimmer, shapes and sizes is so much fun!!!
The first coat I just painted my nails with the polish, the second coat I fished for the larger glitter so every nail had at least one large glitter. I understand this is not how you are supposed to do this and that the randomness is part of the fun, but this is how I did it.

To finish this I'm showing you a quick skittle snapshot I did when the polishes had just arrived. On this picture you can see how Fantastical looks on it's own.

Thank you so much for watching!
I hope you have a great day!
Mine was alot of fun as I didn't have to work today and got to spend my day with my handsome little son (1 year + 1 month old).

Big hug,
Inge (Polishsis)
