Twinkled T Nail Vinyls

By // 3 comments:
While looking at all the amazing nails on Instagram I found the perfect nail vinyls: Twinkled T's Cyclone vinyls. I fell in love and found out they were available for a reasonable price via their Etsy shop. So a few minutes later I had placed my order. I added some stripes and chevrons too, because, you know how that goes, you just can't just buy one product.

They arrived quickly and I couldn't wait to try the cyclones out, so I used them over the nail polish I was wearing.

Products used:
Black: Orly Liquid Vinyl
Glitter: Orly Gold Prism
Gold: OPI My Favorite Ornament
Nail Vinyls in Cyclone and Chevron

This was just a little testrun on the vinyls, but I liked the result so much that I took some pictures to show it to you.

Using the cyclone vinyls took me some practice and patience, especially patience. These vinyls are very sticky. The first two vinyls got stuck on eachother when I tried to pick one off the sheet, The third got stuck on itself, it spiraled back after removing it from the sheet and when I tried to fix it I only made it worse and couldn't use it anymore.
Placing it back on my nail also required an insane amount of patience and a steady hand to get them in the right place and with the right spacing between the spirals, but the results are very much worth it!

Have you ever tried these cyclones? If you have, do you have any tips on placing them that might make it a bit easier? I used tweezers as they suggested, but it still took me some time to get it right.
If you haven't used them before and you want to try them, check out their website HERE  (worldwide shipping only $2)

Thank you so much for watching!
Have a great weekend :-)

OPI 'Amazon...Amazoff' with added holo goodness.

By // No comments:
This is what I wore last weekend. I like to use the 52 week challenge as inspiration for my manicures and this weeks prompt was 'Holo' (of 'Film', but that sounded like way too much work). The challenge helps me to come up with something a little bit more creative and step out of my comfortzone.

I started with painting al my nails with the green OPI 'Amazon...Amazoff'. I really love this polish!. The intention was to stamp with a silver holo over the green, but I failed miserably at the stamping so I removed the green from two fingers and just painted them with silver holo and added a design with 'Amazon...Amazoff' over the silver holo. On the green nails I placed small round holographic glitters to add a little more holo.

Products used:
- Green: OPI 'Amazon...Amazoff'
This is almost a onecoater, a dream to apply, it has an almost invisible shimmer that gives a soft          glow to the polish. Only bad thing: she stains like a b*tch, but I love her anyway.
- Silver holo: Nfu Oh 61
- Silver glitter
- Nailstencil by smART Nails

Thank you very much for watching.
I'm off to bed now with my BFF called Netflix.
I'm watching season 3 of The Killing, the name is appropriate: the suspense and drama is killing me!!!!

While I'm watching netflix, you can watch the other girls who did something holo today:

OPI - Can't Find My Czechbook with Essence glitter gradient

By // No comments:
OPI Can't Find My Czeckbook is the perfect light blue creme, it applies like a dream and it looks so smooth and glossy!!! I really like this polish!
I wore it as a full mani with a glitter gradient with Essence Not Punky Nor Funky, which is my favorite glitter polish by Essence ever, it was a limited edition though, sorry!

Can't Find My Czechbook wears like iron, 5 days without a single chip, another big plus for this polish! As if it wasn't already perfect.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Have a great day and I hope to see you here again :-)

OPI - You Are So Outta Lime! + Yes Love Glow In The Dark glitter topcoat

By // No comments:
This is the last day of my 2 week vacation. During my vacation I decided to wear really bright nail polishes, just because, you know...vacation!!!!!!
This was the mani during the first week of our vacation. As you can probably see there is some minor tipwear, these pictures are taken after 4 full days of wear (looks still pretty good don't you think? Gotta love OPI!)

OPI You Are So Outta Lime! is an amazing neon green. Not too neon though, it has a hint of creamy pastel in it. But without being chalky or streaky. And the color is just lovely.
The application surprised me: OPI advises you to wear the polish over a white base, but why should you do that if you get perfect coverage in just two coats?

This is the first Yes Love I've ever tried, it is supposed to be glow in the dark, but I didn't see any of that. Not even after holding my nails under a really bright light. Besides that, it has very pretty neon glitters in it so no biggie, I'm not sleeping with my eyes open anyway.

Thank you so much for watching and I wish you a lovely Sunday!

OPI What's With The Cattitude? with a Jindie Nails Candy Land accent

By // No comments:
OPI What's With the Cattitude? is an oldie but goodie that I enjoy wearing every once in a while. To spice it up a bit, I layered 3 coats of Jindie Nails Candy Land over the nail on my ring finger.

Candy Land needed some placing of the glitter, but not much. Just pushed them a bit around while painting my nails. Another great polish by Jindie Nails!

The entire mani lasted like iron, almost a week without a chip!

Thank you so much for watching!
XOXOXOX

PolishSis' unposted manis of 2012.

By // 6 comments:

As most of you know, 2012 was a special year for me. I was pregnant and in august I gave birth to our beautiful boy Tyler. Yayyy! Due to extreme fatigue and nausea during pregnancy and being 24/7 on my happy babyblue cloud after Tyler was born, I posted alot less manis this year. But that doesn't mean I didn't try to. I painted my nails often and sometimes even took pictures with the intent to show them to you. It's 2013 now and these pictures are still on my laptop waiting to be shown. So here is a small recap of some of the mani's I wore in 2012, but never posted.
(and if you can make it all the way untill the end of this post, I might have a bonus-babypicture for you :-) )

Revlon Beach: Very sheer, needed 4 thick coats. I'm not a fan of scented nails.
Revlon Beach: Erg dun, 4 dikke laagjes nodig.

Kleancolor Red Hot: Lovely red glitters in a red transparent base. Smells awful, drytime is long.Kleancolor Red Hot: Mooie rode glitters in een doorzichtige rode lak. Stinkt gruwelijk en droogt langzaam

Nubar Chocolate Caramel is a caramel color with a light green shimmer. Just lovely.
Mooi kleurtje.

Nubar Black polkadot is a versatile layering polish. Can be worn over almost every polish.

I looove OPI Pros and Bronze! Ultra small coral and golden flakies in a clear base , 3 coats.
I think this one looks good with every skintone, shape or lengthe of nail.

Models Own Slate Green is a very pretty teal, application is a breeze.
Models Own Slate Green is een prachtig groenbauw lakje, smeert zo makkelijk op.

If you can't decide which polish to wear...wear them all ;-)

Milani Hi Tech looks amazing in the sun. Not a bright holo, but still pretty.

I wore Kleancolor Holo Purple over a medium purple. It's not a holo though, but a duochrome glitter.
The smell is very very bad.

Zoya Ivanka is one of the best greens I own. Very colorful and sparkly.
Zoya Ivanka is één van mijn mooiste groene lakjes. Heel kleurrijk en glimmend.

Essence Grand-Plie in Black is ultra glossy, I'm not wearing topcoat in this picture!

Essie Tart Deco is perfect for the summer, it looks great if you are a bit tanned!

Herôme Essaouira is a light green / mint color that gives you a fresh and colorful look!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black is a brownish transparent base filled with opalescent duochrome glitters in various sizes. Mostly they shift yellow, orange and green. Very pretty. And like all Kleancolors also very smelly and long drytime.
Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black is een bruinige transparante basis vol met duochrome glitters in verschillende groottes. Voornamelijk kleuren ze geel, oranje en groen. Heel mooi.

OPI Black Spotted. I believe there are no dupes yet. Major tipwear within hours. But I really didn't care, I was just happy I own a bottle.
Opi Black Spotted.

Anny Moonlight is a light metallic eggplant color. Not very  special, but  it looks nice.  Amazing wear, after several days no tipwear.

2B nailpolish. Black with golden glitter. Can't remember a thing about this polish. Looks nice though.
2B nagellak. Zwart met gouden glitters. Ik weet niets meer van dit lakje. Ziet er wel mooi uit.
Herôme Utreg. This polish is named after the town I live in. So obviously I needed to buy  this polish. It's a bright yellow polish with a white/silver shimmer. Needed 4 coats to get good coverage. It was a bit streeky.

OPI - Goldeneye (+ layered over Live and Let Die)

By // 1 comment:
You've probably seen this polish a million times already, but If you are like me, you still can't get enough of this beauty!

Color
This gold looks amazing, look at how reflective and shiney it is!!! I already drooled over every swatch I've seen online, but it's even better when you have it on your nails and truly see the depth that is in this polish that you get from all the glitters layered on top of each other. The golden color is a bit darker and more yellow than an average golden polish, which makes it stand out.

Kleur

Application
It is actually a clear base filled with irregular shaped golden glitter or foil particles. You need 2 thick coats or 3 thin coats for an opaque result. The polish aplies evenly, so no dragging of the glitters.

Applicatie

After I wore this for a full week (no chipping at all, I love this polish) I decided to wear Live and Let Die, the dark green polish from the Skyfall Collection. I did not love it like I thought I would, so I layered one coat Goldeneye over it. And it immediately became a great mani again. I took the picture with flash because it was already dark, but you can still see how great Goldeneye looks layered.

Thank you so much for watching!
Lots of love,

PolishSis is a PolishMom!!! Birth-mani with OPI Gargantuan Green Grape and babypics!!!

By // 29 comments:
August 16th 2012 was the best day EVER; I became a mommy !!!
After trying for 16 hours to have a natural birth, the doctors decided to do a c-section. One hour later I kissed the most handsome little boy of the world!
I'm very proud to show you my son Tyler and the mani I wore when he was born (after all, this ís a nailpolishblog)

Our birth announcement card
Ons geboortekaartje

A part of the inside of the birth anouncement

The 'Birth-mani':
Tyler was born on the due date, something that happens to 5% of the babys in our country.
2 days before the due date I decided to do a mani that would look good when the baby was born (nice fun mani, not too dark, not too bright)
I chose OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, a light green polish that is just a bit more bright and colorful than a 'regular' pastel or mint green.
The mani had to be a little more special so I stamped tiger stripes on it with China Glaze 2030.

In the hospital my nails got alot of attention, all doctors and nurses told me they liked my nails, even in de operation room I received compliments!

These pictures were made 9 days after I painted my nails! The mani still looked reasonably good, I only had minor tipwear and there was alot of growth visible.
I haven't painted my fingernails since this mani (I did do a pedi though!)

And now the best part of this post... I'm showing you some pictures of my very handsome son Tyler:

This is the very first moment they showed me my son a few minutes after his birth (check out the nails!)
Proudest mom in the world!!!

So, my polishloving friends, now you have seen the reason for my absence...can you blame me? ;-)
I will keep posting mani's and swatches here, but I'm also very busy hugging and kissing my baby boy.

Hopefully you enjoyed seeing the mani and my handsome baby!

Thank you sooo much for watching and checking out my blog

Have a wonderful day!!!
