Pretty and Polished - May Flowers, a green to white thermal nailpolish. I love thermals!

By // 5 comments:
This is my first thermal nailpolish in a loooong time, a few years ago I had two thermal polishes by Claire's, but the colors weren't very pretty so I didn't enjoy wearing them. Only once wore them to take a picture of it and then they chipped the very same day and disappeared in a box in my closet with polishes I'll never ever wear again in my life.

May Flowers from Pretty & Polished is a very nice color green when it's cold and turns white when warm. There is green, pink and lavender glitter in it and some flower-shaped glitter as well.

I have alot of pictures, unfortunately all taken with my cellphone (some taken while on my way to work and some taken at work, sorry co-workers!), so excuse the low quality, but you can still see how great this polish looks!

This is how the polish looked on me most of the time: a green pinky and a green indexfinger (apparently those are my cold fingers, LOL), perfect gradient on the other nails.

I really really like this green color, so fortunately for me I often have cold hands so I could enjoy that color.

And this is what happens when your hands get cold. the green color fades to a almost white.

I layered May Flowers over a white base so I needed less layers to reach opacity and the effect shows up nicely on the pictures.

And here you see the white color of this polish when my hands were nice and warm (which rarely happens).

So, I hope you enjoyed this polish, I sure did!
This polish can be bought at the Pretty&Polished shop.
They have alot of color changing polishes, but if you are not into that, they have so much more pretties you can drool over!

To finish this post, I have two pictures of our little boy that were taken by a photographer at the mall:

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Bye bye!

Jindie Nails - Fantastical

By // No comments:
A few weeks a go I ordered 3 Jindie Nails polishes. I don't have much experience with indie nailpolishes, so I decided to buy three mini bottles: Candy Land, Quit Staring at my Melons! and Fantastical. They looked amazing in all the swatches I've seen on the blogs, but I was sceptical about their quality. You know the indie polishes are home made, you don't know what they are brewing in their cauldrons. Sometimes it's better to leave things to the professionals.
But after trying al three of these Jindie Nails polishes, I can honestly tell you that the quality is very good! They last for several days without chipping, the glitters don't curl and the color of the glitters don't bleed into the polish.

Today I'm showing you the first of the three polishes I ordered: Fantastical
This is the official description of fantastical:
Fantastical:  Bright, pastel coral crelly (cream/jelly) with a mix of satin matte aqua hex and regular sized stars, metallic and holographic teal smaller sized stars, squares, hex and large dots, turquoise, green/gold iridescent hex, plus beautiful color shifting teal shimmer.  Opaque in 2-3 coats.  Meant to be worn on its own.
Picture taken with cellphone on my way to work :-)
Ofcourse I didn't listen and layered 2 coats of Fantastical over Essie Tart Deco. It looked pretty, but I have to admit I think it looks better on it's own.
Picture taken with cellphone on my way back from work to home :-)
The combination of colors, glitter, shimmer, shapes and sizes is so much fun!!!
The first coat I just painted my nails with the polish, the second coat I fished for the larger glitter so every nail had at least one large glitter. I understand this is not how you are supposed to do this and that the randomness is part of the fun, but this is how I did it.

To finish this I'm showing you a quick skittle snapshot I did when the polishes had just arrived. On this picture you can see how Fantastical looks on it's own.

Thank you so much for watching!
I hope you have a great day!
Mine was alot of fun as I didn't have to work today and got to spend my day with my handsome little son (1 year + 1 month old).

Big hug,

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

By // 4 comments:
Max Factor's Fantasy Fire has been on many nailpolishaddict's wishlist for a long time, but this year they were available in every drugstore in Holland! First time I saw it in my local drugstore 'Kruitvat', I bought 3 bottles at once, scared it might be a limited addition. But it turned out to be available everywhere for a long time! :-)

Fantasy Fire is very sheer, so I layered 2 coats over a regular medium purple polish (I guess it was Misa - Glitz, Glamour, Smile for the camera).

Usually it looks like this (see picture below). Purple with a glowing red shimmer, looks nice but not very spectacular.

But in certain angles this polish shows you a bright red/orange/green flash that does the name of this polish justice! I'm a big fan of the fantasy genre in books and this is what I imagine fire in fantasy books (wizards fire) looks like :-)

So if you were still doubting if you should buy this polish, go and buy a bottle, it's probably still available and it's very pretty!

I'm very much looking forward to the next time I'm wearing Fantasy Fire, I already know next time I'm trying it over blue!

Thank you very much for watching!
I hope you have a nice day!!!
Big hug to you from me

Love,
Inge (PolishSis)
